Video is peer-to-peer between browsers. We cannot “watch” every call on a central media server — and we don’t claim that. Safety is a mix of your tools, community reports, and automatic hub rules.
What you can do in a call
- Start — begin searching from the center of the partner window (also after Stop).
- Next — leave this partner and search again.
- Stop — leave the queue and stay idle (keyboard S). No pressure to keep searching.
- Block — never match this identity again on this hub.
- Report — dock button or click the partner video → Report. Pick a reason; we block them and skip for you immediately. Multiple independent reports can auto-restrict their matchmaking.
- Blur — new strangers start blurred for 2 seconds so you can hit Next, then unblur automatically. Settings → Safety can keep them blurred until you unblur.
On-device AI (explicit skip)
Optional auto-skip explicit video runs in your browser (nsfwjs). Frames never leave your device for that model. If it fires, the partner is blurred, blocked, and you search again. The hub also receives an AI-assisted report signal so repeated offenders across users can be restricted — with a higher threshold than pure human “explicit” reports to limit false positives.
Turn it on/off in Settings → Safety.
How multi-report auto-restrict works
Reports are stored on this hub. Independent users reporting the same identity can trigger a temporary matchmaking ban (they can’t enter the stranger queue). Thresholds by reason:

Reporters are rate-limited so mass false reports are harder. This is not a police service and not perfect — use Block for yourself, and Report to protect others.
What partners can still do
Anyone you video with can screenshot or record what they see. Do not show documents, faces of minors, or secrets you wouldn’t share in public. Prefer a private room or friends only when you need more control.
Your identity across devices
There is no classic login. Each browser starts as its own identity until you Settings → About → Export / Import profile. Friends live on the hub under your user id — import restores that id so friends return on this hub.
Operators
Optional admin UI at /admin.html (token required) lists reports and bans. Optional webhook
ROULETTE_MOD_WEBHOOK_URL can notify you when auto-ban fires (Telegram, Slack, or Discord HTTPS URL).
